Titans open outdoor season in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.--The Westminster College women's track and field program opened its outdoor season at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge this weekend. 

The two-day event was held inside Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. 

Friday, junior Monica Curtis (Harborcreek, Pa., Harbor Creek) was third in the 1500-meter open event, finishing with a personal-best time of 5 minutes, 11.50 seconds. 

Junior Rachel Brady (Columbus, Pa., Corry) registered three top-25 finishes. She was ninth in the javelin on Friday with a top throw of 32.92 meters (108-00). On Saturday Brady finished 24th in the discus (31.21m, 102-04) and 25th in the shot put (10.09m, 33-01.25). Sophomore Jenna Zendron (West Sunbury, Pa., Moniteau) finished 19th in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 58.85. 

Up Next:
Westminster is scheduled to split its squad on Friday-Saturday, March 28-29 to compete at West Liberty University's Tim Weaver Invitational and the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational.
