Stanley named PAC Newcomer of the Week

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster College freshman Lucas Stanley (New Castle, Pa., Union) was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Basketball Newcomer of the Week Monday afternoon.

This is the first PAC weekly honor of Stanley's career.

Stanley scored 12 points in last Tuesday's 88-54 win over visiting Bryant & Stratton at Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium. He went 4-of-9 from beyond the three-point line, which helped the Titans make 18 threes in the game, their most since 2008. Stanley also grabbed two rebounds, had one assist and one steal.

Stanley ranks third in the PAC in three-point field goal percentage (.417) and fourth in three-pointers made per game (3.0).

Westminster opens PAC play at Allegheny (1-3) Wednesday. Tipoff from inside the David V. Wise Center is scheduled for 8 p.m.
