McClain wins three events in decisive victory over Chatham

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Junior Maddy McClain (Elizabeth, Pa., Elizabeth Forward) won three individual events to pace the Westminster College women's swimming and diving team in Friday night's 174-73 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) dual meet victory over Chatham. 

Westminster won 10 individual events in Friday's win. 

McClain was first in the 1000 with a time of 11 minutes, 27.70 seconds, the 500 (5:36.10) and the 400 IM (5:00.66). 

Freshman Rachel Rospierski (Erie, Pa., Fairview) won the 50 free (26.85) and 100 back (1:04.21) and finished second in the 200 back (2:30.19). Freshman Nina Nappo (Columbiana, Ohio, Columbiana) won the 200 fly (2:29.65) and finished second in the 100 free (59.45) and 400 IM (5:15.99). Freshman Olivia Schrock (Greensburg, Pa., Hempfield) won the 200 back (2:25.55), was second in the 100 fly (1:12.38) and third in the 100 back (1:08.63). Freshman Madison Alessio (Charleroi, Pa., Elizabeth Forward) won the 100 breast (1:24.14) and was third in the 50 free (28.30) and 200 breast (3:10.33). Freshman Brianna Reinhart (Pittsburgh, Pa., North Allegheny) swam to a first-place finish in the 100 free (59.35) and was second in the 50 free (27.43).

Junior Annabelle Turner (Butler, Pa., Butler) was second in the 200 free (2:17.05) and 500 (6:03.36). Freshman Sarah Vitale (Allison Park, Pa., Shaler) was second in the 200 breast (3:02.64) and third in the 1000 (12:26.06). Freshman Sophia Greene (Cabot, Pa., Knoch) posted third-place finishes in the 200 free (2:23.38) and 100 fly (1:19.08). Sophomore Izzy Summers (Hubbard, Ohio, Hubbard) was second in the 200 fly (2:53.12) and freshman Emma Greene (Darlington, Pa., Blackhawk) was second in the 100 breast (1:26.30). Sophomore Avery O'Sullivan (Washington, Pa., Trinity) was third in the 100 breast (1:30.10). 

Westminster opened the event with a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay (2:05.56). Relay members were Schrock, Reinhart, Turner and Alessio. The meet concluded with a Titan victory in the 200 free relay (1:47.58). Members of the relay were McClain, Reinhart, Nappo and Rospierski. 

Up next:
Westminster will host Hiram next Saturday. The conference dual is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
