Women fall at Florida Southern

LAKELAND, Fla.--The Westminster College women's swimming and diving program was dealt a 129-61 dual meet loss by Florida Southern College Monday afternoon at the Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center Pool.

Florida Southern evened its dual meet record at 2-2 with the win. Westminster fell to 2-4 in dual meet action this season.

Senior Isabella Barnabei (Oakland, N.J., Indian Hills) was second in both the 100 butterfly, posting a time of 1 minute, 10.21 seconds, and 500 (5:52.99). Senior Sara MacMurdo (Pittsburgh, Pa., Carlynton) was second in the 100 freestyle (57.95) while senior Sara Swanson (Avondale, Ariz., Odyssey Institute for Advanced and International Studies (OIAIS)) finished second in the 100 backstroke (59.20). Sophomore Preslie Bodine (Poland, Ohio, Poland Seminary) was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:17.89).

Senior Amber Krebs (Whitewater, Wis., Whitewater) finished third in both the 100 freestyle (1:03.80) and 1000 (12:21.18) while freshman Taylor Moats (Corry, Pa., Corry) was third in both the 100 breaststroke (1:24.18) and 200 freestyle (2:13.42).

Freshman Isabella Summers (Hubbard, Ohio, Hubbard) was third in both the 100 butterfly (1:17.63) and 500 (6:30.18). Freshman Avery O'Sullivan (Washington, Pa., Trinity) finished third in the 100 backstroke (1:10.64). 

Westminster finished second in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:54.59. Members of the relay included Krebs, freshman Daphne Gindlesperger (McKean, Pa., General McLane), Moats and MacMurdo. The Titans' 400 medley relay, made up of Swanson, Bodine, Barnabei and Summer, was third with a time of 4:46.20. 

Up Next
Westminster will travel to The College of Wooster on Saturday. The non-conference dual meet is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m. inside the Timken Natatorium.
