Women's program earns United Soccer Coaches team academic award

KANSAS CITY, Mo.--The Westminster College women's soccer program earned the 2023-24 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award Thursday afternoon.

The multi-divisional award recognizes teams for their exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2023-24 academic year.

Led by 22nd-year head coach Girish Thakar, this is the 11th time Westminster's women's program received the award. The Titans finished with a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.41.

A total 241 women's programs posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2023-24 academic year. Westminster was one of 105 schools that had both its men's and women's programs recognized.

Westminster was also one of six Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) schools to receive the team academic award: Bethany College, Chatham University, Grove City College, Washington & Jefferson College and Waynesburg University.
