Beard, Forrest, Kamenski named Academic All-District®

GREENWOOD, Ind.--Westminster College's Ryan Beard (Murrysville, Pa., Franklin Regional)Jacob Forrest (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) and Anthony Kamenski (Chicora, Pa., Karns City) were recognized by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) with Academic All-District® honors Tuesday afternoon.

The Academic All-District® teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes cross country/track and field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Beard, a two-time Academic All-America® selection (2021-22, 2022-23), has maintained a 4.00 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) while pursuing a master of business administration. He posted the 14th-best time in the 200 meters this spring in the Mid-Atlantic Region, registering a time of 22.04 seconds at West Virginia University's Last Chance on May 4. It was also the sixth-best time among Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) competition. Beard also ran a time of 10.99 at Slippery Rock University's Dave Labor Invitational on April 5, which was the No. 5 time in the PAC this season. Beard received the NCAA's Elite 90 award at the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships. He is the first Westminster student-athlete to claim an Elite 90 award.

Forrest, a rising senior, carries a 3.77 cumulative GPA as a history major. He posted a 10th-place finish in the shot put (12.15m, 39-10.50) at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships on Apr. 26.

Kamenski earned Academic All-District® for the second-straight year, graduating May 11 with a bachelor's degree in history. He carried a 3.59 cumulative GPA as an undergraduate. Kamenski was recently named All-Mid-Atlantic Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) after finishing with the No. 5 time in the region in the 400-meter hurdles, winning the event with a personal-best time of 54.31 seconds at the PAC Championships.

Westminster finished sixth at the PAC's outdoor championships.
