NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster swept Geneva at home in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader Saturday afternoon. The Titans won game one 5-1 and game two 14-3. 

"We needed to respond," said head coach Patrick Riley. "Jake Vitale and Ryan Gibbons had complete games. Tomorrow, we have two non-conference games against a good team, but we needed this one. They responded and attacked. We did a good job of piecing some things together, playing some better defense. We've got to build off it. We still have some tough opponents ahead and we need to finish it the right way." 

In game two, sophomore Matthew Randza (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) batted-in senior Ryan Jolin (Williamsport, PA / Williamsport Area) and Matt Costello (New Castle, PA / Union Area) to make it 3-1. On the mound, first-year Jake Vitale (New Castle, PA / Union) notched a game-high six strikeouts in the complete-game win. 

Game two was highlighted by the second inning, when Westminster (19-10, 14-6 PAC) five runs, capped by a sacrifice fly from Costello that brought in senior Sean Davis (Sharpsville, PA / Sharpsville), making it 5-1. First-year Ryan Gibbons (Ellwood City, PA / Lincoln) improved to 4-1 with a game-best six strikeouts in the complete-game victory. 

The Titans were led by Randza, who finished the day 5-for-9 with five runs-batted-in. 

Westminster is next scheduled to compete at Penn State Behrend on Sunday, April 24 in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
