GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Westminster men's and women's outdoor track and field teams showcased impressive performances at the Grove City Mini Meet on Wednesday.
"The day started with a missile, a 44-meter school record from Erynn Daubenmire in the javelin to put her in the top-3 in the country," said head coach
Tim McNeil. "Then we continued with good performances from there. Jess Fatigati is getting backing into form with a strong 200. We had an amazing performance by the women's 4x100 of Fatigati, Conley, Rudolph, and Davis and had another school record from our leader Megan Parker in the shot put. The men had outstanding performances from Jake Patton in the 400 hurdles, who will be in the mix nationally with his run today. Amon Sams, Shamar Love and Ryan Beard had strong 200s."
Graduate student Megan Parker (Mercer, PA / Mercer Area) had another record-breaking day as she broke the school record in the shot put with a toss of 14.01m, a mark that is currently fourth in the nation. Parker also won the discus (40.96m). Also breaking a program record was senior Erynn Daubenmire (Mentor, OH / Willoughby South) in the javelin with a throw of 44.00m, which currently ranks second in NCAA Division III.
Also for the women, sophomore Jessica Fatigati (McDonald, PA / West Allegheny) won the 200 (26.63) and was the first leg of the winning 4x100 relay team (50.45), joining sophomore Madison Conley (New Castle, PA / New Castle), junior Emma Rudolph (Santa Clarita, CA / Golden Valley), and sophomore Breannda Davis (Streetsboro, OH / Streetsboro). Rudolph won the pole vault with a mark of 3.88m., while Davis won the long jump (5.05m.)
For the men, senior Jacob Patton (Harrisville, PA / Moniteau) won the 110-meter hurdles (15.69) and the 400-meter hurdles (54.04). Senior Amon Sams (Chantilly, VA / John Champe) clocked in first in the 100-meter dash (10.84) and was the first leg in the winning 4x100-meter relay team that won with a time of 42.17; completing the quartet were Ryan Beard (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional), junior Komari Clark (Scottsville, KY / Heard County), and junior Shamar Love (Bridgeton, NJ / Bridgeton). Junior Deondre McKeever (Youngstown, OH / Austintown-Fitch) won the high jump (1.83m).
The Titans are back in action Saturday, April 16 at the Thiel Invitational.
