Megan Parker (Mercer, PA/Mercer) and first-year
Lexi Shiderly (Castle, PA/Mohawk) were both recognized by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) for their performances last week.
Parker, who was named the PAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week, secured a pair of top-11 finishes at Youngstown State's Collegiate Invitational Friday. She was 10th in the shot put with a throw of 40 feet, 08.25 inches (12.40m) and 11th in the weight throw with a mark of 48-07.25 (14.81m). Parker's effort in the weight throw tops the PAC's performance list and ranks 45th in NCAA Division III. Her throw in the shot put is No. 2 in the league and 34th in Division III.
Shiderly, who was named the PAC Women's Rookie of the Week, broke the school record in the shot put with a throw of 40 feet, 10.25 inches (12.45m) for a ninth-place finish at YSU. She was the top NCAA Division III finisher in the event. It's the No. 1 throw in the PAC this season and ranks 32nd in Division III.
The Titans are back in action at the two-day YSU National Mid-Major Invitational, starting Friday, Jan. 28.
