ELKINS, W.Va. – The Westminster men's lacrosse team had six players register at least three points in the Titans' 16-8 win at Davis & Elkins on Tuesday.
"A lot of our offensive production tonight started with stout defense, great saves and caused turnovers," said head coach
Travis Brown. "It was a team effort top to bottom, we were able to use our depth and get everyone in the game to tire them out."
Sophomore
Payton Waight (Ithaca, NY / Ithaca) led the Titans with four points, including two goals and two assists. Registering three points were sophomore
Jimmy Sentz (Catonsville, MD / Loyola Blakefield), junior
Boyd Foster (Lincoln, RI / Lincoln), junior
Hamish Mathwin (Marion, Australia / Westminster), junior
Ryan Greer (Cranberry Twp, PA / Seneca Valley), and first-year
Gavin Jones (Henrico, VA / Douglas S. Freeman). Greer and Jones led the Titans in goals with a hat trick each.
Titan sophomore
Colin O'Malley (Pittsburgh, PA / North Allegheny) gathered in a game-high nine ground balls. Sophomore goalkeeper
Bradley Green (Landisville, PA / Hempfield) earned the win, while collecting five saves in 34 minutes of work.
Westminster (4-1) jumped out to a 6-1 lead with 12:37 to play in the second quarter and led 8-4 at halftime. The Titans pulled away with four-straight goals to start the second half, leading 12-4.
