NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's swimming and diving team defeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Saint Vincent College Friday evening on Senior Day.
The Westminster women (2-0) defeated the Bearcats (0-1) by a team score of 183-103. The Titans earned ten total victories (nine solo, one relay) on the day led by senior
Zoe Cable (Hilliard, OH / Hilliard Davidson), juniors
Anna Grimenstein (Bridgeville, PA / Homeschooled) and
Megan Routch (Imperial, PA / West Allegheny) and sophomore
Baylee Horvath (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional), who each earned two individual victories a-piece in the meet.
Cable earned first place in both the 3 meter (235.20) and 1 meter (223.50) dive events, while Grimenstein continued her consistency in the butterfly, winning the 200 (2:20.78) and the 100 (1:03.21) and placing second in the 200 IM (2:22.62). Horvath also picked up two wins in the 50 Freestyle (25.43) and the 100 Freestyle (56.98), while Routch won the 1000 Freestyle for the second-straight meet with a time of 11:30.20 and also claimed the 500 Freestyle (5:33.88). Horvath and Routch were also a part of the winning 200 Freestyle relay team with senior
Nyna Hess (Hilliard, OH / Hilliard Davidson) and first-year
Lauren Tanis (Reading, PA / Fleetwood Area) with a time of 1:47.82.
Hess also picked up a second-place finish in the 200 Breaststroke (2:43.57), an event that was won by first-year
Olivia Herman (Hamburg, NY / Hamburg) with a time of 2:39.27. Tanis finished second in the 100 Freestyle (59.08) and the 200 Freestyle (2:06.62). Herman also earned a second-place mark in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:15.05, while junior
Marissa Bowers (Cuyahoga Falls, OH / Cuyahoga Falls) finished second in the 100 Backstroke (1:06.56) and 200 Backstroke (2:22.82).
The Westminster women's swimming and diving team will be back in the pool tomorrow when it travels to Steubenville, Ohio for a conference matchup on the road against Franciscan University starting at 3 p.m.
