NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's swimming and diving team defeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Bethany College on Friday evening to remain unbeaten on the season.
The Westminster women (4-0) defeated the Bison (0-3) by a team score of 148-22.
The Titans won all 16 events on the day, led by four athletes who claimed multiple individual events on the evening. Senior
Zoe Cable (Brookville, PA / Brookville Area), sophomores
Baylee Horvath (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) and
Shannon Geer (Greensburg, PA / Hempfield Area) and first-year
Kaylee Madey (Emsworth, PA / Avonworth) each earned multiple individual first-place finishes.
Cable won both the 3 meter (234.00) and 1 meter (235.65) dive events for third time this season. Cable has not lost in either event this season. Horvath claimed both the 100 breaststroke (1:19.60) and the 500 freestyle (6:00.34), while Geer won the 100 backstroke (1:05.41) and the 100 butterfly (1:08.97). Madey claimed the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:32.77 and was the victor in the 200 backstroke with a mark of 2:25.63.

Nyna Hess (Hilliard, OH / Hilliard Davidson) and junior
Carinna Lapson (Aliquippa, PA / Hopewell) won with a time of 2:05.30. Geer and Lapson were also a part of the winning 200 freestyle relay quartet (1:49.72) with junior
Marissa Bowers (Cuyahoga Falls, OH / Cuyahoga Falls) and first-year
Lauren Tanis (Reading, PA / Fleetwood Area).
Individually, Hess won the 400 IM (4:59.88), while Tanis claimed the 1000 Freestyle (11:52.20). Lapson also earned a victory in the 50 freestyle (27.62) and Bowers won the 100 freestyle (1:00.08). The Titans picked up two more individual wins on the evening, as juniors
Megan Routch (Imperial, PA / West Allegheny) and
Anna Grimenstein (Bridgeville, PA / Homeschooled) each earned victories in the 200 freestyle (2:05.86) and 200 breaststroke (2:48.08), respectively.
The Westminster women's swimming and diving team will be back in the pool on Friday, February 19 when it travels to Grove City College for a highly anticipated conference matchup against the Wolverines starting at 6 p.m.
