WOOSTER, Ohio – The Westminster men's and women's swimming & diving teams lost on the road against Wooster on Saturday afternoon.
The Titan men (2-2), who lost 153-145, won nine events to total 230 points. The Titan women (3-1), who lost 199-85, earned first-place finishes in two events and captured 85 points for the meet.
For the Titan men, first-years
Connor Fritz (Canfield, OH / Canfield) and
Samuel Duda (Tulsa, OK / Bishop Kelley) teamed with sophomore
Paul Kallaur (Bethel Park, PA / Home Schooled) and senior
Jacob Musselman (Denver, PA / Cocalico) and won the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:42.15. Musselman notched wins in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.82 as well as the 100 freestyle at 48.80 and the 200 backstroke, finishing at 2:05.79. Fritz also won the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 57.12. Kallaur also tallied a win in the 100 breaststroke, finishing at 1:03.71. Senior
Patrick Holton (Livonia, MI / Winston Churchill) registered a win in the one meter dive with a score of 275.5, while classmate
Austin Shaw (Gibsonia, PA / Pine-Richland) won the three meter dive with a score of 309.45. In the 200 freestyle relay, Fritz and Musselman teamed with senior
Kevin MacMurdo (Pittsburgh, PA / Carlynton) and first-year
Cory Webster (Coraopolis, PA / Moon) to earn a first-place finish at 1:30.50.
Titan senior
Gayner Rossi (Trenton, MI / Trenton) earned the two victories for the Titan women in the one-meter dive with a 197.25 and in the three-meter dive with a 192.35.
The Titans are back in action Thursday, December 2 as they travel to Wooster, Ohio to compete in the Wooster Invitational.
