PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Westminster men's and women's swimming & diving teams swept Chatham on the road in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) bout on Friday.
The Westminster men (2-1, 2-0) won 224-45 with 14 event victories, while the Westminster women (3-0, 2-0) won eight events to earn a 173-117 victory.
Seniors
Kevin MacMurdo (Pittsburgh, PA / Carlynton) and
Jacob Musselman (Denver, PA / Cocalico) teamed with sophomore
Paul Kallaur (Bethel Park, PA / Home Schooled) and first-year
Connor Fritz (Canfield, OH / Canfield) to earn a victory in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:39.62. Musselman also scored a win in the 200 freestyle, clocking in at 1:51.79 as well as the 100 butterfly at 54.82. Fritz tallied a victory in the 100 backstroke finishing at 55:34. First-year
Patrick Benedict (Pittsburgh, PA / Upper Saint Clair) won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.28, followed by classmate
Michael Phillips (Saxonburg, PA / Knoch) who won the 200 butterfly, clocking in at 2:24.21. The Titans continued their winning ways as MacMurdo registered a win in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.13. Senior
Austin Shaw (Gibsonia, PA / Pine-Richland) tallied wins in the one meter dive with a 301.45 and in the three meter dive with a 326.95. Shaw has qualified for regionals with his performance today, joining classmate
Patrick Holton (Livonia, MI / Winston Churchill) who has done so already earlier in the season. Kallaur earned a second victory in the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.86. First-year
Samuel Duda won the 200 backstroke, finishing at 2:06.38 and the 200 IM at 2:06.75. Senior
Constantine Kallaur (Bethel Park, PA / Home Schooled) earned a victory in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:32.75. Fritz teamed with juniors
Stephen Adametz (Glenshaw, PA / Shaler Area) and
Brock Lindsey (Lakeland, FL / All Saints Academy), along with first-year
Dawson Yocum (Flower Mound, TX / Flower Mound) to earn a victory in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:31.50.
For the Titan women, sophomore
Olivia Herman (Hamburg, NY / Hamburg), seniors
Anna Grimenstein (Bridgeville, PA / Homeschooled) and
Marissa Bowers (Cuyahoga Falls, OH / Cuyahoga Falls) along with junior
Baylee Horvath (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) earned a win in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:58.62. Grimenstein also tallied a victory in the 1,000 freestyle, clocking in at 11:57.99, the 200 breaststroke at 2:48.75 as well as the 200 IM with a time of 2:26.28. Herman registered a win in the 100 breaststroke, finishing at 1:14.46. Horvath notched another win in the 50 freestyle, clocking in at 25.49. The Titan women continued their strong showing as Bowers won in the 200 backstroke at 2:21.82. Senior
