Swimming & Diving: Titans Open PAC Slate with Sweep of Presidents

RESULTS

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster men's and women's swimming & diving teams defeated Washington and Jefferson on the road Saturday in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest.
 
The Titan women (2-0, 1-0 PAC) won, 152-136, with six event victories and the Titan men (1-1, 1-0 PAC) won, 210-63, with 14 event victories.
 
For the Titan women, senior Anna Grimenstein (Bridgeville, PA / Homeschooled) earned three victories: 200 butterfly with a time of 2:24:62, 100 butterfly at 1:04:34, and 200 IM at 2:22:77. Junior Baylee Horvath (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) grabbed a win in the 50 freestyle, clocking in at 26:22. Sophomore Olivia Herman (Hamburg, NY / Hamburg) tallied a win in the 200 breaststroke, finishing at 2:44:86. Senior Megan Routch (Imperial, PA / West Allegheny) registered a victory in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:43:47.
 
For Titan men, first-years Connor Fritz (Canfield, OH / Canfield) and Samuel Duda (Tulsa, OK / Bishop Kelley) teamed with senior Jacob Musselman (Denver, PA / Cocalico) and sophomore Paul Kallaur (Bethel Park, PA / Home Schooled) for a win in the 200 medley relay, posting a time of 1:40:62. Senior Kevin MacMurdo (Pittsburgh, PA / Carlynton) grabbed a victory in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:19:94. Senior Constantine Kallaur (Bethel Park, PA / Homeschooled) tallied a win in the 200 freestyle, finishing at 1:56:02. Fritz registered another win in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 56:27 and in the 200 backstroke at 2:07:69. P. Kallaur turned in a win during the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04:45, followed by junior Stephen Adametz (Glenshaw, PA / Shaler Area) with a win the 200 butterfly at 2:11:68. The Titan men would not stop there as senior Patrick Holton (Livonia, MI / Winston Churchill) tallied a win in both the one meter dive, scoring a 295, and in the three meter dive, scoring a 320.20. First-year Patrick Benedict (Pittsburgh, PA / Upper Saint Clair) registered a win in the 200 breaststroke, finishing at 2:29:18, followed by classmate Zachary Burghgraef (Caledonia, MI / South Christian) who finished in first-place in the 500 freestyle, clocking in at 5:21:34 and in the 200 IM, posting a time of 2:10:66. Duda was able to grab another victory in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56:86. In Event 31, the 200 freestyle relay, Duda, Fritz, MacMurdo, and Musselman teamed up to win, clocking in at 1:31:20.
 
The Titans are back in action Friday, November 12 as they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. to compete against PAC foe Chatham. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
