Day 2 Results
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Westminster College men's and women's indoor track & field teams concluded the two-day Youngstown State Mid-Major Invite on Saturday with school-record performances.
Titan junior Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic) highlighted the day with a school-record, first-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.87, almost three seconds faster than the second-place finisher, in the 65-runner field. Junior Dalton Anderson (Butler, PA / Moniteau) broke his own heptathlon record with 4,214 points for a fifth-place finish.
Also for the Titan women, senior Katie Schrantz (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) ran a personal-record mile time of 5:37.37 for a 28th-place finish out of 67 runners. Schrantz also finished 23rd (11:04.77) in the 3,000-meter run out of 50 competitors, while earning another personal-record in the 800 (2:39.04). Senior Maura Belding (Columbiana, OH / Crestview) finished first for Westminster in the 400-meter dash with a time of 63.47, finishing 34th of out 63, while earning a PR in the 60 (8.73).
Also for the Titan men, sophomore Amon Sams (Chantilly, VA / John Champe) finished 10th with a time of 7.10 in the 60-meter dash. Sams also finished 24th in the 200-meter dash at 22.85 (personal-record), finishing 24th out of 98 runners. Senior Cole Keister (Edinburg, PA / Union Area) ran the fastest for the Titans in the 400 for 30th out of 66 runners with a PR-time of 52.65.
The Titans are back in action Friday, Feb. 7 at the Oberlin Mini Meet.
