OBERLIN, Ohio – The Westminster College men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed in Oberlin College's Dan Kinsey Invitational on Friday.
The Titan women were led by three first-place finishers. Senior Katie Schrantz (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:38.02. Junior Julia Strobel (New Castle, PA / Wilmington Area) and sophomore Morgan Gossard (Johnstown, PA / Richland) tied for first in the pole vault with a leap of 10 feet, 11.75 inches (3.35m). The height set a new career-best for Strobel. Junior Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic) earned third-place in the 800 (2:26.58). Ward was also the anchor of the third-place 4x400 relay team who clocked in at 4:41.94; sophomore Haley Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic), senior Maura Belding (Columbiana, OH / Crestview), and first-year Jenna Rady (Leechburg, PA / Leechburg Area) completed the quartet. Belding added a seventh-place in the 200 (29.33).
Junior Dalton Anderson (Butler, PA / Moniteau) led the Titan men team with a second-place in the high jump (6'/1.83m), third-place finish in the 60 hurdles (9.03), and a fourth-place jump in the long jump (19'3.25"/ 5.87m). First-year Ryan Beard (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) placed fifth in both the 60 (7.37) and 200 (23.66). Senior Cole Keister (Edinburg, PA / Union Area) finished second in the 400 (55.76), while senior Evan Vent (Pittsburgh, PA / South Fayette) placed third in the 3,000-meter run (10:18.51).
