NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) today selected football senior wide receiver
Connor Cox (Ridge, MD / Leonardtown) as its Titan Athlete of the Week for his performance during the week of September 30.
Cox set a career-mark at No. 25 nationally-ranked Case Western Reserve on Saturday with 172 receiving yards, the most by a Titan in a single game in 10 years (213 - Jon Gubish, 2009), to go along with two touchdowns. Cox's team-high 516 receiving yards ranks second in the conference and is tied for 17th in NCAA Division III. Cox is currently seventh all-time in Westminster history for career receiving yards with 1,721. He only needs 279 more receiving yards to become the third-ever Titan to earn over 2,000 yards in a career. Cox needs 129 more receiving yards to surpass Titan Sports Hall of Famer and current Westminster Track & Field and Cross Country head coach
Tim McNeil '96 (1,849) for sixth all-time.
Westminster will next host Grove City College on Saturday, October 12 at 1 p.m. for its Homecoming game.
