Westminster claims spot in Opendorse Bowl Series

Will face Mount St. Joseph Saturday in Canton, Ohio

11/16/2025 6:31:00 PM

CANTON, Ohio--On Sunday evening, Westminster College was announced as the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) representative invited to participate in the Extra Points Bowl in Canton, Ohio on Nov. 22 as part of the 2nd Annual Opendorse Bowl Series.

The two-game Opendorse Bowl Series takes will take place Saturday at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium and will once again bring together teams from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC), the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) and the PAC. The Opendorse Bowl Series offers programs from these four conferences a unique platform to showcase their brands to a larger audience of college football fans in a competitive and spirited setting.

At 1 p.m. in the ForeverLawn Bowl, Ohio Northern from the OAC will match up with Wabash from the NCAC, the predetermined home team. The Extra Points Bowl, featuring Westminster for the second-straight year, and Mount St. Joseph, the HCAC representative, is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. As the PAC's representative, Westminster is the predetermined home team.

Both games of the Opendorse Bowl Series will be streamed exclusively by FloSports on its FloCollege platform. More information about the FloSports exclusive broadcasts will be announced this week.

Westminster went 7-3 overall and 6-2 in the PAC during the regular season. It is the ninth season winning seven or more games under 12th-year head coach Scott Benzel. MSJ, led by ninth-year head coach Tyler Hopperton, finished its 2025 campaign 6-4 overall and 5-1 in the HCAC.

Saturday will mark Westminster's 26th all-time postseason appearance and its sixth in the last seven seasons. Most recently, in 2024, the Titans earned a 27-13 Extra Points Bowl victory over Marietta in the inaugural Opendorse Bowl Series. Saturday will be the first-ever meeting between Westminster and Mount St. Joseph, from the Delhi Township suburb of Cincinnati.

Each conference has specific guidelines in place used to determine the teams that will participate in the Opendorse Bowl Series. Schools that have earned automatic qualification (AQ) to the NCAA Division III championship, or any of the schools announced as at-large selections by the Division III Football Committee, have been automatically withdrawn from consideration.

Opendorse, the leading NIL company and athlete marketplace, will sponsor the series while also providing year-round NIL services to the participating conferences. In addition to bringing together top teams from each conference in a celebration of Division III football excellence, all student-athletes from each conference will benefit from NIL opportunities and ongoing education.

All four qualifying teams will participate in a hosted dinner and Pro Football Hall of Fame tour on Friday. The dinner will include an educational NIL presentation from Opendorse, as well as the presentation of the Balanced Student-Athlete Award to one student-athlete from each team.

Tickets are available now at TicketMaster or at the box office, located in the Center for Performance, the day of the games. General admission tickets are on sale for $20, while club seats are $45. Club seat ticket holders will be granted exclusive access to the climate-controlled club lounge, where beverages, including alcohol, will be available. The club lounge is the only public area of the stadium to serve alcoholic beverages. Ticket holders have access to both Opendorse Bowl Series games.

All media inquiries for the Opendorse Bowl Series should be directed to Brian Rose, PCC Director of Communications, at rose@pacathletics.org or 724-579-8972.
