PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Westminster College men's and women's golf teams completed day two of the Carnegie Mellon Fall Shootout, hosted by Carnegie Mellon University, on Sunday afternoon.
The Titan women placed eighth out of ten teams with a two-day score of 764 points (392-372). The Titan men finished 11th out of 14 teams, scoring a weekend score of 608 points (306-302).
For the women, first-year
Jocelyn Behr (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) and sophomore
Emily Marcus (South Park, PA / South Park) each tied for 32
nd with two-day scores of 185. Behr shot a 99 on day one and a team-best 86 on day two, while Marcus shot a day one score of 94 and 91 on day two. Sophomore
Mariah Hoff (Vienna, OH / Matthews) finished 36
th (194-99/95), while junior
Alexa Hutchinson (Geneva, OH / Geneva) placed T-37
th (200-100/100).
For the men, freshman
Michael Bell (Canonsburg, PA / Peters Township) placed best for Westminster, tying for 30
th with a two-day score of 147. Bell shot a 75 on day one and a team-best 72 on day two. Junior
Avery Andric (Lisbon, OH / Lisbon David Anderson) finished next for the Titans with an overall score of 151 (T-37th/74-77). Freshman
John Popa (Salem, OH / South Range) (T-60th/157-80/77), sophomore
Kolby Montgomery (Rimersburg, PA / Union) (65th/159-83/76), and sophomore
Connor Chirdon (Cheswick, PA / Deer Lakes) (T-69th/162-81/81) rounded out the top-five for the Titans.
The Westminster women are back in action Saturday, September 22 at home in the Westminster Invitational, at New Castle Country Club. The men next compete at La Roche College on Tuesday, September 18. Both start times have yet to be determined.
