Westminster wraps up play at The Northeast Elite

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.--The Westminster College men's golf team wrapped up its two-day run at The Northeast Elite Monday afternoon. 

The 16-team, 90-player event was held at the Williamsport Country Club, the premier private country club in the North Central/Lycoming County region. Rochester won the team title with a two-day total of 287. Rochester's Alvin Su led from start-to-finish to claim the individual title, firing a 67 on Sunday and a 66 on Monday for a two-round score of 133. Westminster finished 16th with a team score of 631 (313-318). 

Junior Tyler Hager (Lehighton, Pa., Palmerton) finished in a five-way tie for 24th with a 150. He shot a 72 on Sunday and a 78 on Monday. Hager had an eagle Monday on the par-5 No. 6. Senior Jonathan Haddox (Bethel Park, Pa., Bethel Park) finished tied for 52nd with five other players, shooting a 77 on Sunday and a 78 on Monday for a two-round score of 155. Freshman Aydan Gross (Mount Pleasant, Pa., Mount Pleasant ) finished in a three-way tie for 70th with a 159 (80-79) and freshman Brody Pirt (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) was 85th with a 172 (84-88). Senior Joshua Furman (Jefferson, Ohio, Jefferson) finished 86th with a 175 (92-83).

Westminster will compete in the two-day Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic Sunday and Monday. Penn State Altoona is hosting the event at the Sinking Valley Country Club in Altoona, Pa.
