BETHANY, W. VA. – The Westminster College baseball team split its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader at Bethany College Saturday afternoon.
The Titans lost game one, 2-1, however, regrouped and won, 9-4, in the second game.
In game one, Bethany (6-10-1, 1-5 PAC) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning after Neil Woods singled home Brandon Wagner. Wagner scored the eventual game-winning run in the fifth inning on a Titan error. In the seventh inning, Westminster (5-13, 2-5 PAC) had junior

Tyler Barnot (Pittsburgh, PA / Bethel Parks) on second with no outs. Junior
Joseph Salmen (New Castle, PA / Union) reached on a fielder's choice; Rossier advanced to second and Barnot was out at third. Two batters later with two outs, senior
Ty Ferlin (Latrobe, PA / Ligonier Valley) singled home Rossier cutting Bethany's lead to 2-1. The Titans, however, were unable to bring the tying run home. Salmen (2-1) pitched a complete game, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits. He struck out two and walked one. Westminster outhit Bethany 6-2. Ferlin and senior
Sean Coyne (New Castle, PA / New Castle) each recorded a game-high two hits.
In the second game, Westminster led 5-1 after three innings of play and 8-2 after four innings. The Titans added another run in the top of the sixth inning, while the Bison scored two in the bottom half. The Titans outhit the Bison, 12-9. Coyne, Rossier, and sophomore

Jaret Johnson (Niles, OH / Niles McKinley) each connected on a double. Rossier also hit a triple. Senior
Nate McMaster (Stow, OH / Stow-Munroe Falls) (2-1) pitched 5.0 innings, while giving up four runs (three earned) on eight hits. He struck out two and walked one.
The Titans will next host Bethany in a nine-inning game on Sunday, April 2 at 2 p.m.
