PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Westminster College men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed in a double dual meet at Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday.
The Titan men's team lost 230-69 to SUNY Geneseo and 213-77 to Carnegie Mellon. The Titan women's team lost 215.5-84.5 to SUNY Geneseo and 262-38 to Carnegie Mellon.
For the men's team, sophomore
David Peffer (Ellwood City, PA / Riverside) won the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:54.06. Junior
Mitch Stahara (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) picked up a pair of third-place finishes (200 freestyle/1:44.55 and 100 freestyle/47.91) and was the anchor of the 200 freestyle relay that touched third (1:26.94). Sophomore
Michael Spencer (Clearfield, PA / Clearfield), junior
Daniel Bogen (Canfield, OH / Canfield), and junior
Scott Morosetti (Pittsburgh, PA / South Park) completed the relay. Freshman
Aaron Dunlany (Boardman, OH / Boardman) (1,000 freestyle/10:21.75) and Spencer (50 freestyle/21.81) also had a third-place finish apiece.
For the women's team, first-year
Abby Jones (Cabot, PA / Knoch) (100 breaststroke/1:09.38) and junior
Megan Douds (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) (100 butterfly/1:01.43) each earned a third-place finish and were both part of the 200 medley relay that placed third (1:54.39). Completing the quartet were first-year
Alyssa Hampton (Anchorage, AK / AJ Dimond) and sophomore
Carolyn Novak (Pittsburgh, PA / Upper St. Clair).
Westminster will next host Saint Vincent College on Saturday, January 21 for its Senior Recognition Meet at 1 p.m.
