Ethan McCarthy (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) registered a hat trick in the Westminster College men's soccer team's 6-2 win at Penn College on Sunday.
First-year
Gabe Roman (Easton, PA / Easton Area) scored the first Titan goal after he received a pass from senior
Marcus Gurgiolo (Edinburg, PA / Mohawk) in the 5th minute. This was Roman's first collegiate goal of his career.
Three minutes later McCarthy scored his first goal off a deflection.
First-year
Zach Medarac (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) tallied his first collegiate goal, while extending Westminster's lead to 3-0 at the 33:54 mark.
The duo of Gurgiolo and McCarthy hooked up in the 53rd and 57th minutes of the second half for McCarthy's final two goals.
Penn College scored their two goals in the 59th and 80th minutes, respectively.
Freshman
Justin Brandt (Elliott City, MD / Archbishop) topped off the Westminster scoring with a goal in the 83rd minute, the first of his collegiate career.
Titan senior goalkeeper
Tyler Little (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock) earned his third win of the season after a complete-match effort.
The Titans improve to 3-1-1, while Penn College falls to 2-4 on the year.
Westminster will next host Penn State Behrend on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
