FINAL RESULTSERIE, Pa. - The Westminster College men's and women's swimming and diving teams, under the tutelage of 31st-year Head Coach
Rob Klamut, won its 600th and 601st dual meet in school history after a sweep at Penn State Behrend on Saturday.
The women's team won 159-78, while winning 10 events, not including three events where the Titans used exhibition swimmers.
The men's team won 170-123, while also winning 10 events.
For the women's team, senior
Kelsey Reott (Butler, PA / Slippery Rock) and junior Samantha Tower (Export, PA / Franklin Regional) both won two individual events and were a part of a winning relay.
Reott won the 100 (1:03.80) and 200 (2:21.25) backstrokes. Tower clocked in first in the 100 (1:10.51) and 200 (2:36.28) breaststrokes. Reott and Tower also teamed up with sophomore
Megan Douds (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) and junior
Anne Tillie (Fallston, MD / Fallston) for a win at the 200 medley relay (1:55.03).
Douds also won the 200 butterfly (2:16.80), while Tillie won the 200 freestyle (2:01.20).
Also earning wins for the women's team were senior
Sara Peace (Darlington, PA / Blackhawk) (1,000 freestyle/11:35.62), first-year Maggie Long (Fairport, NY / Fairport) (100 freestyle/58.05), and sophomore
Stephanie Dorsch (Harmony, PA / Seneca Valley) (1-meter diving/170.50). Â
Senior Matt Baurle (Jeannette, PA / Penn Trafford), sophomore
Brad Kolesar (West Mifflin, PA / West Mifflin), and sophomore
Mitch Stahara (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) led the men's team as they each won two individual events and were part of a winning relay team.
Baurle won the 100 (1:00.22) and 200 (2:15.97) breaststrokes. Kolesar won the 100 (54.97) and 200 (2:06.30) butterfly. Stahara won the 100 (48.69) and 200 (1:47.26) freestyle.
Baurle and Kolesar were also part of the 200 medley relay team which won with a time of 1:37.76. Completing the quartet were senior
Austin Karper (Carlisle, PA / Carlisle) and freshman
Michael Spencer (Clearfield, PA / Clearfield). Spencer also won the 50 freestyle (22.06).
Stahara was also the anchor of the 400 freestyle relay team which won at 3:20.17. Rounding out the foursome were freshman
David Peffer (Ellwood City, PA / Riverside), senior
Max Hague (Canton, OH / Glenoak) and freshman
Griffin Nincke (Sewickley, PA / Quaker Valley).
Rounding out the winners for the men's team was sophomore Mike DiDomenico (Canfield, OH / Canfield) who clocked in at 10:45.07 in the 1,000 freestyle.
Westminster will next compete at Bethany College (WV) next Saturday at 1 p.m. in its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) dual meet opener.
