BETHANY, W. Va. - The Westminster College men's basketball team lost, 96-56, at Bethany on Wednesday in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action.
The Bison (11-2, 5-0 PAC) capitalized off of 28 Titan (1-11, 0-3 PAC) turnovers with 38 points off those miscues.
Bethany took a large lead early in the first half as it led 18-4 with 13:26 on the clock. The Bison took their largest lead of the half when it led 39-16 with 5:21 remaining. Bethany was in front 47-25 at halftime.
Bethany out-shot Westminster 52.9% (37-70) to 41.5% (17-41) and out-rebounded the Titans 42-23.
The Bison continued to add to their lead in the second half and had their largest lead of the game when Alan Harper connected on a three-pointer, putting Bethany in front 93-51 with 1:42 remaining in regulation.
Titan sophomore Paul Carswell (Painesville, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) had a team-high 14 points, followed by freshman Matt Getsy (Mars, PA / Mars) with 13 points. Sophomore Charlie Wallander (Pittsburgh, PA / Baldwin) led on the glass with a team-high five rebounds. Wallander and freshman Coty Gander (Jackson Center, PA / Lakeview) added seven points each. Freshman Cameron Pozsgai (Windham, OH / Windham) tallied a team- and career-high three steals.
Delonte' Joyce led Bethany with a game-high 29 points, while Ramel Young had a game-high eight rebounds.
Westminster will host Waynesburg on Saturday at 4 p.m.
