Women's Soccer: Tissue's First Career Goal Lifts Titans Past Juniata

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Sophomore midfielder Kristina Tissue (Coraopolis, Pa./West Allegheny) scored the game-deciding goal with under eight minutes left in regulation as the Westminster College women's soccer team topped visiting Juniata, 1-0, Thursday in a nonconference match. The Titans improve to 2-6-1 on the season and the Eagles are now 3-5-1.

Tissue buried her first career goal at the 82:14 mark of the second half on an assist from senior defender Kelli Michanowicz (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg).

Westminster outshot Juniata 14-8.

Junior goalkeeper Jenn Cantella (Freedom, Pa./Freedom) gloved four saves for her third shutout of the season and the 13th of her career to move into sole possession of fourth place on the team's all-time list for career shutouts.

Westminster opens conference play Saturday when it hosts Saint Vincent at 3 p.m.
