BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - With its first two-goal game of the season, the Westminster College women's soccer team improved to 2-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) with a 2-1 overtime win at Geneva Saturday night. The Titans, who scored just three goals all season entering Saturday's match, improved to 4-7-1 overall including wins in three of their last four matches. Geneva falls to 4-8-1 overall and 0-3 in the league.
Senior midfielder Samantha Killmeyer (Medina, Ohio/Highland) scored her second goal of the season on an assist from sophomore forward Amanda Turi (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) just seconds before the end of the first overtime period.
The two teams played most of the game with a 1-1 tie after senior defender Tyler Dever (Salt Lake City, Utah/Highland) scored an unassisted goal for Westminster in the 12th minute that was quickly answered by Geneva's Rissa Tillman in the 15th minute with an unassisted goal.
Westminster outshot Geneva 27-13.
Westminster junior goalkeeper Jenn Cantella (Freedom, Pa./Freedom) made two saves for the win, while Geneva netminder Karmyn Culbertson gloved 16 saves.
The Titans host Thomas More Wednesday at 4 p.m.
