PITTSBURGH, Pa. - In its sixth shutout of the season, the Westminster College women's soccer team scored its most goals of the season by winning 8-0 at Chatham Friday in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action. The Titans improve to 6-5-1 on the season and 2-1 in the PAC, while the Cougars drop to 4-8 and 1-2 in the league.
Freshman forward Kristin Koontz (New Paris, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) led Westminster by tying a career high with two goals. Koontz, who went eight games without a goal, now has four goals on the season.
Junior defender Tyler Dever (Salt Lake City, Utah/Highland) scored just 56 seconds into the game, before freshman forward Amanda Turi (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) netted her first career goal in the 12th minute to give Westminster a 2-0 lead.
Junior midfielder Eliza Gibbs (Holladay, Utah/Highland) scored her first goal of the season in the 20th minute before assisting on the first career goal by freshman midfielder Kalaway Voss (Fraser, Mich./Fraser).
Koontz then sandwiched two goals around a goal by senior midfielder Kristin Kajari (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) before sophomore midfielder Maura Miglioretti (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) closed out the scoring with her second goal of the season.
Junior goalkeeper Lindsay Moyer (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) made four saves for her first career shutout.
Westminster outshot Chatham, 36-7.
Westminster hosts SUNY Geneseo Saturday at 1 p.m.
