Men's Soccer: Titans Use 49-0 Shot Advantage For Decisive Win

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team had no problem defeating Penn State-Beaver, 7-0, at home Tuesday in non-conference action.

The Titans (6-3) held a resounding 49-0 shot advantage over Penn State-Beaver (6-5).

Senior midfielder Garrett Horvath (Southlake, Texas/Southlake Carroll) scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season in the seventh minute.

Freshman forward Coty Hainsey (New Paris, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season in the 27th and 52nd minutes, while classmate midfielder Jarred Smeltzer (Wilmerding, Pa./East Allegheny) potted his third and fourth goals of the year in the 60th and 61st minutes.

Senior defender Chris Ellwanger (South Park, Pa./South Park) scored his second career goal when he buried a penalty kick in the 10th minute.

Sophomore midfielder Aaron Zavora (Westmoreland City, Pa./Norwin) scored the game's final goal in the 83rd minutes.

Westminster returns to action at Baldwin-Wallace Saturday at 7 p.m.
