Men's Soccer: Titans Upset by Thomas More in PAC Semis

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team was upset in the semifinal round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament Wednesday as the top-seeded Titans lost at home to fourth-seeded Thomas More, 3-1, just four days after they beat the Saints, 4-0, in the regular-season finale.

Thomas More (13-5) scored 57 seconds into the game when Gary Sheahan scored on a breakaway goal. Sheahan struck again with a 32nd-minute goal to put the Saints up, 2-0.

Westminster (10-5-3) got on the board in the 40th minute when freshman midfielder Wade Grubbs (Chicora, Pa./Butler) scored his first career goal on a cross from senior forward Andrew Saporito (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford).

Thomas More came right back four minutes later as John Wallace scored on a cross from Aaron Osborne.

The Titans held a slight, 23-22, shot advantage. Freshman goalkeeper Mike Codita (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) made eight saves for the Titans, while Thomas More's Matt Koopman made 10 saves.
