Men's Basketball: Westminster Hangs on for 94-86 Win at Home Over Saint Vincent

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's basketball team held off a late scare after leading by as many as 23 points to defeat Saint Vincent Wednesday, 94-86, at the Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.

The Titans (13-7) had five players score in double figures led by senior guard Nick Adams (Huntsburg, Ohio/Cardinal) scoring 24 points for his third 20-point game of the season. Adams knocked down 4 of 6 shots from 3-point range and 8 of 12 overall from the field.

Senior guard Greg Rosatelli (Clinton, Pa./Hopewell), who transferred to Westminster from Saint Vincent prior to last season, scored 21 points, dished out a game-high seven assists and snared a team-high seven rebounds. Rosatelli also sank 11 of 15 shots from the free-throw line.

Other Titan double-digit scorers included junior guard Craig Hannon (New Castle, Pa./Union) with 16 points, senior guard Dom Joseph (New Castle, Pa./New Castle) with 13 and junior guard/forward Chauncey Whitlow (Youngstown, Ohio/Woodrow Wilson) with 12.

Javille Brooks led the Bearcats (11-8) with a game-high 32 points. His dunk with 6:24 remaining in the game drew Saint Vincent within two points (75-73) after the Titans saw their 23-point diminish after they led 60-39 with 17:24 left in the second half.

The Titans quickly answered as Whitlow sandwiched two lay-ups around a Hannon 3-pointer as Westminster eventually re-took a 10-point lead (83-73) with 4:44 remaining in the game.

Westminster returns to action in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Saturday, Feb. 3, when it travels to Thomas More for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
