5/15/2026 2:30:00 PM

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Westminster softball program had three players--sophomores Morgan O'Brien (Coraopolis, Pa., Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) and Cheyenne Piper (Latrobe, Pa., Ligonier Valley), along with junior Faith Jones (Volant, Pa., Wilmington)--honored as National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Region VII selections Friday afternoon.

The awards honor student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with selection to one of three teams. NFCA member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective region. All honorees move forward to be considered for selection for the three NFCA Division III All-America squads and will be announced May 27 on NFCA.org and the Association's social media accounts.

O'Brien and Piper were named First Team All-Region selections. Jones was a Second Team All-Region selection.

On May 7, O'Brien was named the Presidents' Athletic Conferene (PAC) Player of the Year while Piper claimed her second-straight PAC Pitcher of the Year award.

A second baseman, O'Brien is hitting a PAC-best .487 with (57-117) 13 doubles, three triples, two home runs, 42 RBIs and 38 runs scored. Her 57 hits and 1.208 OPS are third-most in the league. O'Brien's 42 RBIs are tied for fourth-most on the program's single season list while her 57 hits are fifth-most among the program's single season leaders. O'Brien has 19 multi-hit games, including five three-hit games, and 11 multi-RBI games this season. She had a 14-game hitting streak from March 10-31. O'Brien, a First Team All-PAC selection, was named a PAC All-Tournament team selection at the conclusion of this year's PAC Championship Tournament.

This is O'Brien's first All-Region selection.

Piper, a right-hander, is 18-4 with a 2.04 earned-run average (ERA), 18 complete games and seven shutouts this year. Her 18 victories are No. 1 in the PAC this season and are tied for third-most among the program's single season leaders. A four-time PAC Pitcher of the Week selection in 2026, she fired her first collegiate perfect game in 10-0, six-inning game one win at Thiel on April 22, striking out eight on just 68 pitches. Piper fanned a season-high 15 batters in an 8-1 game one victory over Waynesburg on April 25. Her 181 strikeouts are No. 3 on the program's single season list and rank third in Division III this season while her strikeout-to-walk ratio (9.47) is No. 3 in Division III. For the second-straight year, Piper, a two-time First Team All-PAC selection, was named to the PAC's All-Tournament Team and earned Most Outstanding Player honors after going 3-0 with a 1.33 ERA, three complete games and 26 strikeouts during the Titans' run to its third-straight PAC title.

Piper is a two-time First Team All-Region selection.

Jones, a catcher and two-time First Team All-PAC selection, is hitting .411 (51-124) with 18 doubles, a triple, 16 RBIs and 41 runs scored. Her 18 doubles lead the PAC and rank No. 2 on program's single season list while her 41 runs scored are second-most in the PAC and are tied for fifth-most among the program's single season leaders. Jones has 14 multi-hit games, including a pair of four-hit games. She had a career-best 16-game hitting streak earlier in the season. Jones was named to the PAC's All-Tournament Team for the second-straight year.
