TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster rising senior Faith Jones (Volant, Pa., Wilmington) was named a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Scholar-Athlete of the Month for April Monday morning.

Each month, the SAAC groups at each PAC member institution are asked to nominate one male and one female student-athlete for PAC SAAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month consideration based on academic and athletic accomplishments. Nominees must be a varsity team member in their respective sport(s) and in their junior or senior year. Scholar-Athlete of the Month nominees must have a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher and be actively involved within their campus communities.

A member of Westminster's softball program, Jones joins Washington & Jefferson senior Anthony Cestaro, a member of the Presidents' track and field program, as the PAC SAAC's April honorees.

Jones, a catcher, captain and two-time First Team All-PAC selection, hit .473 (26-55) with 11 doubles, 10 RBIs and 20 runs scored during Westminster's 15-4 April. The Titans went 11-3 in league play in April, snagging the top seed in this year's PAC Championship Tournament. She had 10 of her 15 multi-hit games in April and registered her second four-hit game of the year in an 11-1, five-inning game two win over Pitt-Bradford on April 9. Jones had a career-best 16-game hitting streak earlier in the season (March 10-April 2) and was named to the All-Tournament Team for the second-straight year after helping Westminster earn its third-straight championship tournament title.

A two-time Second Team All-Region selection, her 18 doubles lead the PAC and rank No. 3 on program's single season list while her 43 runs scored are second-most in the PAC and are tied for fourth-most among the program's single season leaders.

Jones maintains a 3.518 cumulative GPA and recently graduated from the UPMC Jameson School of Nursing. She will continue her coursework at Westminster to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The valedictorian of her graduating class, she was selected as a student speaker at the commencement ceremonies on April 23.

She has been recognized as a DAISY Award nominee for her exceptional compassion, skills, and leadership and was named to the UPMC Schools of Nursing Honor Society in March, which recognizes the academic achievements of students promoting the value of scholarship and excellence in academic and professional practice. Jones will begin working at AHN Grove City Hospital in the emergency department this summer.

Westminster finished the season 31-11, the fourth 30-win season in program history. The Titans have made three-straight appearances in the Division III Championship field.
