Westminster wins against Bethany

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster women's lacrosse team posted a 19-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win against Bethany Wednesday afternoon at the UPMC Sports Complex.

Westminster improved to 9-6 overall and 6-2 in the PAC. Bethany fell to 7-8 overall and 3-5 in the PAC.

Freshman Kaylin Henry (Martinsburg, W.Va., Martinsburg) finished with a career-high five goals (2 free-position goals), one assist and six draw controls. Senior Haley Wenzel (Coppell, Texas, Coppell) had four goals, a pair of assists and five ground balls. Senior Chloe Courinos (Beaver Falls, Pa., Blackhawk) scored a career-high four goals and added one assist while senior Julia Ravazza (Twain Harte, Calif., Dublin) had one goal and four assists.

Senior Michaela Neelin (Henrietta, N.Y., Rush Henrietta) finished with three goals, an assist, six ground balls, two caused turnovers and four draw controls. Graduate student Felicia Young (Darlington, Pa., Blackhawk) had four caused turnovers and five draw controls while junior Emma Baldwin (Seven Fields, Pa., North Catholic) finished with three ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Westminster outshot Bethany 41-9 and had a 22-7 shots on goal advantage. Westminster went 14-of-16 in clears attempts and finished with 17 draw wins to Bethany's nine.

Westminster concludes the regular season at Chatham (11-3, 7-1 PAC) Saturday. The opening draw from UPMC Graham Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.
