Westminster rolls at Hiram

HIRAM, Ohio--The Westminster men's lacrosse team cruised to a 16-5 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory at Hiram Saturday afternoon.

Westminster upped its record to 8-6 overall and 3-3 in the PAC.

Sophomore Ethan Kurtz (Hummelstown, Pa., Lower Dauphin) finished with one goal and four assists. Junior Brady Skinner (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) and freshman Brendan Robinson (Gainesville, Va., Gainesville) scored three goals each. Robinson added one assist and three ground balls.

Sophomore Jack Steimle (Mount Sinai, N.Y., Mount Sinai) went 17-of-20 from the faceoff X and added six ground balls and one caused turnover. Sophomore Jack Poller (Huntington, N.Y., Harborfields) and freshman Adam Teixeira (Sparta, N.J., Sparta) each picked up four ground balls. Teixeira added one caused turnover. Senior Jorden Tate (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) got the win in goal, totaling seven saves and six ground balls. Freshman Evan White (Woodbridge, Va., Forest Park) went into goal with just under four minutes remaining and made one save.

Westminster out shot Hiram 52-32 and also had more shots on goal (33-13). Westminster finished 24-of-27 in clears.

Up next:
Westminster will travel to Greenville Wednesday to take on Thiel. The opening faceoff from inside the Rissell-Schreyer Dome is scheduled for 7 p.m.
