Westminster erupts for 17 hits in 14-8 victory over Lancaster Bible

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.--Sophomore Ian Temple (Harrison City, Pa., Penn-Trafford) collected a career-high five hits in Monday's 14-8 win over Lancaster Bible.

Temple went 5-for-6 with two doubles, a home run, five RBIs and three runs scored. Temple's two-run home run in the top of the third inning was his third this season. His five-hit game wa the program's first since Seth Schrader's five-hit, seven-RBI effort in a 14-7 win at Chatham on March 26, 2022. 

Junior Quinn Marquis (Hinckley, Ohio, Highland) went 3-for-6 with a double, three RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Senior Josh Reed (Beaver Falls, Pa., Blackhawk) went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored. 

Sophomore right-hander Jack Strausser (Greenville, Pa., Greenville) picked up the relief win, working 3.0 scoreless innings with a walk and four strikeouts. Sophomore righty Brandon Roher (Trafford, Pa., Penn-Trafford) snagged the three-inning save, giving up three runs (3 earned) on four hits with two walks and a strikeout.

Westminster will take on Immaculata Wednesday. The opening pitch from the Polo Grounds inside The Ripken Experience is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
