Rankin claims PAC weekly honors

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster junior Katie Rose Rankin (Sewickley, Pa., North Allegheny) claimed Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Golf Player of the Week honors Tuesday afternoon,.

This is Rankin's second PAC Player of the Week award this season and eighth of her career.

Rankin was runner-up at The Pennsylvania Classic last weekend. The two-round event, hosted by Penn State Altoona, was played on Penn State's White Course. Rankin finished with a two-day total of 153, carding a 77 on Saturday and a 76 on Sunday. Westminster finished third at the 11-team event with a combined score of 673, following Saturday's 342 with a 331 on Sunday.

Last Thursday, Rankin tied for third at the Grove City Spring Invitational, hosted by the Grove City Country Club, with an 82. Westminster won the 10-team event with a score of 335.

Up next:
Westminster is scheduled to participate in the Greenbriar Collegiate Invitational Monday-Tuesday, April 6-7. The two-day event, hosted by Southern Virginia, is being held at The Greenbrier in White Sulfur Springs, W.Va.
