BOARDMAN, Ohio--Junior Katie Rose Rankin (Sewickley, Pa., North Allegheny) fired a five-over 77 Friday to lead the Westminster women's golf program during the third round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships at the Mill Creek Golf Course.

The final two rounds of this year's 72-hole championship are being played on Mill Creek's North Course.

Westminster, winners of seven-straight PAC titles, saw its 15-stroke lead at the conclusion of the fall championship rounds erased by Washington & Jefferson, who surged into the lead of the nine-team championship field with its combined score of 337 Friday. Westminster finished with a combined team score of 354 on Friday. The Presidents currently lead the Titans by two strokes (1020-1022) heading into Saturday's final round.

Rankin and Grove City's Emily Bunting shot low-round 77's on Friday.

Rankin moved into the No. 1 position on the 39-player leaderboard with a combined three-round score of 238. She's seven strokes ahead of Geneva's Madison Sharek (245). Rankin was in second place after the two fall championship rounds. Sophomore Ava Liburdi (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory), the medalist after fall's two championship rounds, is tied for third with a 246.
