Hergenrother named December PAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Senior Mick Hergenrother (Canfield, Ohio, Cardinal Mooney) was named a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Scholar-Athlete of the Month for December Thursday morning.

Each month the Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC) at each PAC member institution are asked to nominate one male and one female student-athlete for PAC SAAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month consideration based on academic and athletic accomplishments. Nominees must be a varsity team member in their respective sport(s) and in their junior or senior year. Scholar-Athlete of the Month nominees must have a cumulative grade-point average (GPA0 of 3.0 or higher and be actively involved within their campus communities.

A member of Westminster's basketball program, Hergenrother joins Washington & Jefferson junior Jaden Wan, a standout basketball player for the Presidents, as the PAC SAAC's December honorees. 

Hergenrother, an accounting major, is also pursuing a minor in data analytics. He currently owns a 3.84 cumulative GPA. A two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® selection (2024, 2025), Hergenrother has been recognized on the College's Dean's List five times and earned PAC Spring Academic Honor Roll distinction twice. In July he was named a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court selection, which recognizes junior, senior and graduate students who finished the previous academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. 

Hergenrother averaged 5.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game in December for Westminster. He made 13-straight starts to begin the year, averaging 5.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists. Hergenrother's 50 assists and 36 steals rank No. 2 in the league. 

On campus Hergenrother has served as a peer tutor for accounting, general business, and computer science courses. He traveled to Asheville, North Carolina over spring break 2025 to help with hurricane cleanup and relief through the College's "Spring Break with a Purpose" program, a service-learning program where students travel to communities in need for mission and volunteer work, often with Habitat for Humanity or disaster relief, led by the Office of Faith and Spirituality.
