Westminster rolls in 7-0 win

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over visiting Thiel Friday afternoon. 

Westminster improved to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play. 

The Titans won the doubles point with convincing decisions in all three matches. Junior Emma Overlingas (Pittsburgh, Pa., Baldwin) partnered with senior Grace Askey (Dubois, Pa., Jeff Tech) in a 6-0 win at No. 2 before senior Christine Rossi (Jefferson Hills, Pa., Thomas Jefferson) and freshman Megan Blasko (Mercer, Pa., Pennsylvania Cyber Charter) posted a 6-1 win at No. 1. Sophomore Emily Yurko (Boardman, Ohio, Boardman) and senior Emily Klaus (Warren, Ohio, Warren JFK) scored a 6-1 decision at No. 3. 

Blasko and Askey each won no-doubters during the singles session, with Blasko defeating Alivia Fallon 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 and Askey snagging a 6-0, 6-0 win over Sabrina Robison at No. 4. 

Up next:
Westminster is back in action Saturday, hosting league rival Grove City. Doubles matches are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
