Women's tennis falls at home to Grove City

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College women's tennis team was dealt a 7-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss by Grove City Saturday afternoon. 

Westminster fell to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the PAC. Grove City improved to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference. 

Grove City secured the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Senior Christine Rossi (Jefferson Hills, Pa., Thomas Jefferson) and freshman Megan Blasko (Mercer, Pa., Pennsylvania Cyber Charter) earned a 6-4 win at No. 1 over Grace Stitt and Emma Flanigan.

Grove City swept the six singles matches. Rossi battled Stitt at No. 1, falling 6-3, 6-1. Junior Emma Overlingas (Pittsburgh, Pa., Baldwin) fell to Grace Yurko 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2.

Westminster travels to Latrobe Monday to take on Saint Vincent in another PAC match. It's scheduled to get underway 4 p.m.
