Women ninth in preseason cross country coaches' poll

TRAFFORD, Pa.--The Westminster College women's cross country program was picked to finish ninth in this year's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll. The 2025 coaches' poll, voted on by the conference's 12 head coaches, was announced with the PAC's Players to Watch List Wednesday morning.

Led by 19th-year head coach Tim McNeil, Westminster earned 45 points in the poll. The 2025 Westminster roster features eight runners, including four freshmen, two sophomores, one junior and one senior.

Defending champion Allegheny claimed the top spot with 105 points and four first-place votes. Grove City, last year's runner-up, was second with 101 points and three first-place votes, Geneva was third with 97 points and four first-place votes, while Saint Vincent was fourth with 96 points and the final first-place vote.

The Titans had four named to the Runners to Watch List: senior Monica Curtis (Harborcreek, Pa., Harbor Creek), sophomore Alexis Lefoer (Canfield, Ohio, Canfield) and freshmen Abigail Perrine (Grove City, Pa., Grove City) and Callie Reaugh (Blairsville, Pa., River Valley)

Last year Westminster finished 10th at the PAC Championships. Curtis was 39th with a time of 25 minutes, 27.80 seconds while Lefoer was 92nd with a time of 29:40.10.

Westminster begins its season Friday evening as host of the annual Fisher Invitational. The five-kilometer event begins with the women's race at 6:45 p.m., followed by the men's race at 7:15 p.m. The PAC Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1 hosted by Allegheny. The women's six-kilometer race will get things going at 11 a.m., followed by the men's eight-kilometer race at 12 p.m.
