College Sports Communicators honor four with Academic All-District®

GREENWOOD, Ind.--Four members of the Westminster College women's swimming and diving program were recently named Academic All-District® selections by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). 

Seniors Isabella Barnabei (Oakland, N.J., Indian Hills) and Sara MacMurdo (Pittsburgh, Pa., Carlynton) and sophomores Preslie Bodine (Poland, Ohio, Poland Seminary) and Maddy McClain (Elizabeth, Pa., Elizabeth Forward) were recognized. 

Barnabei, a neuroscience major, carries a 3.65 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). She is a three-time Dean's list selection and has been named to the PAC's Academic Honor Roll once. At this year's PAC Championships, Barnabei finished in third place as a member of Westminster's 800 free 'A' relay (8:20.88), was fourth as a member of the 400 free 'A' relay (3:49.72) and was sixth as a member of the 400 medley 'A' relay (4:28.95). Individually, Barnabei was sixth in the 400 IM (4:58.56) and eighth in th 200 fly (2:32.64). Now a two-time Academic All-District® selection, she is also a two-time All-PAC performer (Second Team 2023-24; Honorable Mention 2024-25).

A biology major, MacMurdo owns a 3.64 cumulative GPA. She is a four-time Dean's List selection and has been named to the PAC's Academic Honor Roll twice. At the PAC Championships, she finished in third place as a member of Westminster's 800 free 'A' relay (8:20.88), was fourth as a member of the 200 medley 'A' relay (1:55.93), was fourth as a member of the 400 free 'A' relay (3:49.72) and was fifth as a member of the 200 free 'A' relay (1:45.17). Individually, MacMurdo was fourth in the 50 free (25.03), fourth in the 100 free (54.56) and sixth in the 200 free (2:01.72). She is a four-time All-PAC selection (Second Team in 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25; Honorable Mention in 2021-22) and has twice been named Academic All-District® .

Bodine, an accounting major, maintains a 3.97 cumulative GPA. She is a three-time Dean's List selection and has been named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll once. At the PAC Championships, she finished in fourth place as a member of Westminster's 200 medley 'A' relay (1:55.93), was fifth in the 200 free 'A' relay (1:45.17) and was sixth as a member of the 400 medley 'A' relay (4:28.95). Individually, Bodine finished fifth in the 100 breast (1:11.25). 

A biology major, McClain carries a 3.90 cumulative GPA. She is a three-time Dean's List selection and was named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll last spring. At the PAC Championships, she finished in third place as a member of Westminster's 800 free 'A' relay (8:20.88), was fourth as a member of the 200 medley 'A' relay (1:55.93), was fourth as a member of the 400 free 'A' relay (3:49.72) and was fifth as a member of the 200 free 'A' relay (1:45.17). Individually, McClain was second in the 1650 free (18:29.63), third in the 500 free (5:22.80) and eighth in the 200 free (2:03.03). 

Westminster concluded its season with a third-place finish at the PAC Championships in February.
