Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Westminster edged at home

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's lacrosse program lost to Pennsylvania College of Technology, 10-9, at the UPMC Sports Complex Wednesday night. 

Penn College improved to 11-4 with the win while Westminster fell to 7-7. 

Senior midfield Gavin Jones (Henrico, Va., Douglas S. Freeman) scored off an assist from freshman midfielder Paul DiPasquale (Woodbine, Md., Glenelg) with just over a minute left to tie the game at 9-9 before Owen Kupsey netted the game-winner for the Wildcats with just 32 seconds to go. 

Jones and graduate midfielder Jimmy Sentz (Catonsville, Md., Loyola Blakefield) both had three goals, with Sentz scoring a pair of man-up goals. Jones added three ground balls and a caused turnover while Sentz picked up a pair of ground balls. Freshman attacker Ethan Kurtz (Hummelstown, Pa., Lower Dauphin) scored twice while sophomore attacker Anthony Trella (Coraopolis, Pa., Moon) finished with three assists and two ground balls. Senior long-stick Brody McGuinness (Heber City, Utah, Wasatch) had two ground balls and two caused turnovers and freshman Nolan Grieshaber (Rocklin, Calif., Rocklin) registered 18 saves. 

Kupsey led Penn College with four goals, including the game-winner. Antonio Santora finished with nine ground balls and went 15-of-18 at the X. Elliot Dotson had one goal, one assist, seven ground balls and four caused turnovers. 

The Wildcats outshot the Titans 55-43 and put 28 of their shots on goal. Westminster went 3-for-3 in extra-man opportunities.

Westminster will celebrate Senior Recognition Day Saturday against Thiel College. The opening faceoff is scheduled for noon.
