Westminster women fourth after Day 3 of PAC's

GROVE CITY, Pa.--The Westminster College women are currently in fourth place after the conclusion of Friday night's finals at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Swimming and Diving Championships.

Grove City College leads the eight-team field with 665 points. Saint Vincent College is second with 484 points and Chatham University is third (315). Through 15 events, Westminster has amassed 279 points. 

Sophomore Preslie Bodine (Poland, Ohio, Poland Seminary) scored a fifth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a season-best time of 1 minute, 11.25 seconds. She was sixth in the event last year (1:12.59). In the 200 freestyle, senior Sara MacMurdo (Pittsburgh, Pa., Carlynton) finished sixth with a time of 2:01.72 while sophomore Maddy McClain (Elizabeth, Pa., Elizabeth Forward) was eighth with a time of 2:03.03. Freshman Taylor Moats (Corry, Pa., Corry) was 12th (2:07.52) in the 200 freestyle.

Seniors Isabella Barnabei (Oakland, N.J., Indian Hills) and Sara Swanson (Avondale, Ariz., Odyssey Institute for Advanced and International Studies (OIAIS)) were sixth and 12th, respectively, in the 400 IM. Barnabei registered a personal-best time of 4:58.56 while Swanson swam a season-best 5:13.92. 

Sophomore Annabelle Turner (Butler, Pa., Butler) was 10th in the 100 butterfly (1:06.86) while freshmen Avery O'Sullivan (Washington, Pa., Trinity) and Daphne Gindlesperger (McKean, Pa., General McLane) finished 11th and 15th, respectively, in the 100 backstroke. O'Sullivan posted a time of 1:07.74 while Gindlesperger recorded a time of 1:10.65.

The evening session ended with Westminster's 200 freestyle "A" relay finishing fifth with at time of 1:45.17. Relay members included senior Amber Krebs (Whitewater, Wis., Whitewater)
, Bodine, McClain and Macmurdo. The 200 freestyle "B" relay, made up of Barnabei, Gindlesperger, O'Sullivan and senior Lily Hefner (Washington, Pa., Homeschooled), was 13th (1:54.20). 

Up Next:
The championships' last six events are scheduled to be decided during Saturday evening's finals. Senior recognition is set to get underway at 5 p.m., with the 1650 to begin at approximately 5:15 p.m.
