NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Sophomore Katie Maryo (Cleveland, Ohio, Magnificat) poured in a season-high 20 points to help Westminster cruise to a 70-41 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over visiting Thiel Saturday afternoon at Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.

Saturday was Westminster's (3-4, 1-1) home opener. It was the program's eighth-straight win over Thiel (3-5, 0-2). Saturday was Maryo's second career game scoring 20 or more points and 10th career game hitting four or more three-pointers.

Maryo was 7-of-10 from the field and knocked down five of her eight attempted three-pointers. She added a pair of rebounds. Freshman Bella Calcamuggio (Sylvania, Ohio, Notre Dame) finished with a season-high 12 points to go along with three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Sophomore Katie Grexa (Hartford, Ohio, Badger) and freshman Jenna Zuelch (Aurora, Ohio, Aurora) chipped in with eight points apiece, with Grexa adding three rebounds, two steals and two blocks and Zuelch adding a team-best seven boards.

Kayley Risser and Emily Betsinger scored in double figures for Thiel. Rissner finished with 13 points and eight rebounds while Betsinger had 11 points and five boards.

Maryo scored a dozen first half points, going 4-of-5 from the floor and 3-of-4 from three-point range. Its 9-0 scoring run midway through the second erased a one-point Thiel lead, 14-13, capped by Maryo's third three-pointer of the quarter. Westminster shot 60.0 percent (9-15) and outrebounded Thiel 19-18 in the opening half. Up by 15, 31-16, at the break, Westminster used a 10-0 spurt to stretch its lead to 23, 48-25, with just over 20 seconds to go in the third. Keyed by a 12-0 scoring run, the Titans' lead swelled to as many as 34, 68-34, with 3:06 left.

Westminster shot a season-high 48.3 percent (29-60) from the floor and knocked down 9-of-25 (.360) of its attempted three-point field goals. The Titans turned 25 Tomcat turnovers into 31 points.
