Liburdi named PAC Player of the Week

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster College sophomore Ava Liburdi (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Golfer of the Week Tuesday afternoon.

It is Liburdi's first career PAC Player of the Week citation. She was named the league's newcomer of the week three times last year.

Liburdi averaged 79.3 strokes over three rounds last week, which was highlighted by a first-place finish at the Grove City Fall Invitational Monday. It was her first collegiate individual title. Liburdi topped the 65-player leaderboard with a one-under 71 and finished her round with six birdies. Westminster won with a team score of 323. Liburdi also tied for eighth place at last weekend's John Carroll Fall Invitational after posting a 167, carding an opening-round 79 and an 88 on Sunday to help Westminster finish as runner-up at the 10-team, 36-hole event.

Up next:
Westminster will compete in two first two rounds of the PAC Championships next Monday and Tuesday. The fall championship rounds, hosted by the Avalon Golf and Country Club, are being held at the Squaw Creek Golf Club. The Titans won their seventh-straight conference title last April.
