Westminster earns straight-set win over W&J

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over visiting W&J Saturday evening on Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium. 

Westminster won 25-21, 25-21 and overcame nine ties and six lead changes in the third to win 27-25 and preserve the sweep. It was the program's seventh straight set win this year and third-straight win over W&J. 

Westminster improved its overall record to 11-7 while evening its PAC record at 3-3.

Junior Liv Trent (Pittsburgh, Pa., Brentwood) led the attack for Westminster with nine kills. She added three services aces and 17 digs. Sophomore Morgan O'Brien (Pittsburgh, Pa., Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) followed up with eight kills, 17 assists, nine digs and a pair of blocks. Senior Rachel LaSalvia (Columbus, Pa., Corry) totaled seven kills while senior Charlotte Burgan (Moon Township, Pa., Moon) added six kills, two blocks and a pair of digs. Senior Angie Nardone (Ellwood City, Pa., Lincoln) registered 15 assists and eight digs and freshman Kylie Anthony (Harrison City, Pa., Penn-Trafford) finished 15 digs and five kills. 

Lola Jacobs and Faith Fetsko led W&J (9-8, 4-2 PAC) with nine and eight kills, respectively. Brielle Moorhouse finished with 23 assists and 10 digs. Piper McFarland added 16 digs.
