Westminster drops PAC match at Franciscan

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio--The Westminster College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Franciscan Saturday evening at the Trinity Health System Field. 

Westminster's record fell to 0-9-2 overall and 0-3-1 in the PAC. 

Franciscan scored both of its goals in the opening half. George Phillips scored the match's first goal in the 13th minute off Augustine Rubino and Anthony Venditti assists. In the 28th minute, Lucas Cross netted an unassisted goal to extend the lead to 2-0. 

Senior Noah Wolford (Butler, Pa., Butler) registered a career-high 10 saves. 

Franciscan (6-6, 4-0 PAC) outshot Westminster 20-6 and finished with a 12-1 advantage in shots on goal. Franciscan took eight corner kicks. Westminster took one. 

Up Next
Westminster will travel to Pittsburgh Tuesday to take on Chatham (2-7-1, 0-2-2 PAC). Kickoff from UPMC Graham Field is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
